Symmons Plains Preview

Hi Guys,

I’m writing to you today from Symmons Plains in Tasmania , the second-last round of the championship for 2007.

It’s fair to say that Bahrain was the worst round of the year for the team, and it’s incredible how hard bad luck bites.

This weekend is about redemption, and getting back on track in the championship. We know the cars are quick and the team is on top of things, so my focus is winning races and letting the championship take care of itself. We may have made it tougher for ourselves but there is still 6 races and a lot of points up for grabs.

Looking back to Symmons Plains in 2006, I have a few bad memories that I’m looking to erase. The chassis was bent after a big crash in race 1, and I spent the rest of the time watching from the sidelines.

We were slightly down on pace last year, but with the extra stability and better horsepower in the TeamVodafone cars this year we should have a very competitive round.

The weather is very good down here at the moment and it looks like the rain might hold off for the most part of the weekend, except for a few showers on the Saturday afternoon.

2007 has been a great year for me, but its very important to make these last two rounds count. Thanks for your continued support and I’m hoping to reward you with a fantastic result in this championship.

Have a great weekend, and don’t forget to check out the telecast, from 2.00-5.30 on Saturday and Sunday (except in Qld, Saturday begins at 1.30).

See you soon,

Cheers,
Jamie Whincup
