Time to go racing in Osaka!

Well it's been a really long year that's been interrupted by injury but I now can't wait for the world championships to start this weekend in Osaka.
I came home to Sydney from Europe last week to freshen up and get my body clock acclimatised, and I fly out on Monday for the athletes' village. It's been great to catch up with family and friends. They have all lifted my spirit and given me the inner confidence to do really well.
I've done enough training and now I have to mentally prepare for the next couple of weeks of competition.
The season in Europe was really interesting. It was the first time I had done a series of 5 races over there and I think I did really well. They were all back-to-back so I had to be ready to compete each week. I got to see most of the guys I'll be racing in World Champs and in the end I beat them all except Jeremy Warriner and LaShawn Merritt, the two big American favourites. I ended up with three 2nd's, a 4th and a win so I'm pretty happy. I'm comfortable that I'm now third in the world and who knows what will happen we go racing over a Championship program.
The key now is for me to taper, stay fresh and go into the races with maximum energy. That's why I'm going to Japan early so I can get used to the heat and just get my mind ready for competition. My first race is on the 28th of August, the semis on the 29th, my birthday is on the 30th, and the final is on the 31st. Hopefully I'll get my present on the 31st. My aim is to put myself in the final and from there we'll see what happens!
Just finally I like to thank my supporters at Dexion. They have been very patient with me and hopefully now I can repay the faith that you have shown in me.
