When Access Records Management faced the need to almost double their storage capacity due to rapid growth, Dexion introduced a practical storage system design. This system, equipped with barcode tracking for all cartons and an integrated conveyor, greatly improved the speed and ease of document retrieval.
Dealing with high transportation costs due to distributed storage facilities was another challenge. The frequent movement of documents between locations was costly. Dexion’s response was a customised four-level mezzanine storage system for Ausdoc, designed to maximise storage density. This comprehensive setup included 67.5 kilometres of Keylock uprights, 154 kilometres of Keylock beams, and 16,000 square metres of grid floor. The decision to use narrow aisle picking directly from mezzanine floors effectively doubled the storage density and reduced transportation costs.
